How do I become a member of the Ypsilon Institute?
If you want to become an individual member:
- you must be recommended by at least one member of the Ypsilon Institute by a short explanation,
- you must fill in and sign registration form, and enclose:
- CV
- motivation letter (why do you want to become a member)
- external recommendation (by an academic, a businessman, a recognized person of civil society, etc.)
- names of two candidates you recommend for membership.
If you want to become a corporate member:
You can choose your own way and extent of cooperation. We offer you three kinds of packages: “Mini”, “Midi” and “Maxi”. You can also choose to become our Sympathizer.
What is the procedure for becoming a member?
In principle, the Ypsilon Institute accepts new members twice a year, in October and in March, and also more often if necessary. On receipt of an application we notify the candidate of the date when the board’s decision on his/her membership is to be expected. The Institute’s board proceeds only fully completed applications. The board can also invite a potential member to an individual interview, and holds the right to deny the applicant without explanation. In case of breaking the Institute’s codex, the board can give warning or expel the member.
What do I gain by the membership of the Ypsilon Institute?
The Ypsilon Institute enables its members’ faster development and a rise of their awareness by giving them opportunity to actively participate in stimulating environment, where they can exchange opinions, views, incentives, and can gain knowledge and experience through active networking and intergenerational cooperation with renowned leaders and role models of the present time and place.
The Ypsilon Institute encourages and carries out numerous projects. We classified them into three groups, one of them is membership. We also cooperate with various organizations and wider society. Members have a possibility to actively participate in some of our projects. Our members are those who can tell you the most about the advantages of the membership. Which are the activities organized by the Ypsilon Institute?
The Ypsilon Institute carries out the following activities:
- organizes events,
- organizes regular events aimed at its members (4 times a year),
- organizes conferences and open charity events (once a year),
- organizes intellectual evening discussions (4 times a year),
- carries out various projects in line with its mission,
- provides services to businesses and organizations.
How much will the membership cost me?
Annual membership fee is 120 €, meaning 10 € per month. The membership fee is symbolic and assures higher seriousness and commitment of our members. It is also important for covering our material costs of starting the Institute, which are many. The membership is automatically prolonged when the member performs all of his/her duties for the past year. Termination of membership shall be notified to the director of the Institute with 30 days notice. The membership fee shall be settled every November for the following year. In case of later affiliation, the membership fee amounts to 10 € x the number of months until November. After that, the membership fee is to be settled in November for the following year. The membership fee includes participation in all the events, usually including also receptions, smaller gifts and other benefits. Additional payment is needed for exclusive events, e. g. banquets, optional events, extraordinary meetings, special benefits, and so on.
Who are the founders of the Ypsilon Institute?
The founders of the Ypsilon Institute are natural and legal subjects who were willing to contribute their finances and time to support the idea of the Ypsilon Institute, and accept responsibility for the project from its idea to its fulfilment. The Ypsilon Institute is a non-profit organization. That is why its purpose is clear: to fulfil mission, vision and values, contributing in this way to the development of society.
Which is the main distinction between the Ypsilon Institute and other organizations that also unite the young?
A number such organizations are striving for developing potentials of young, socially responsible generation. The Ypsilon Institute varies from them by targeting at the group aged from 20 to 30 that is active and promising in various fields, but is just beginning establishing in business and social life.
The next important particularity and advantage of the Ypsilon Institute is its focus on intergenerational cooperation, socializing with successful and renowned representatives of older generations, transfer of knowledge, experience, confrontation of ideas, grinding of views and mutual contribution of the best that older generations have to offer, and of what our generation can give for a better world.
