Ljubljana, 7th September 2010 - Ninth event, first in the new cycle of the Ypsilon Institute’s activities, held a provocative title: Rotary and Lions clubs – weavers of philanthropy, elite or conspiracy? We’ve woven an interesting evening together with Rotary club Zgornji Brnik, Lions club Brnik and with support of districts leaders, where we presented both organizations to the young, opened interesting topics with extraordinary guests and concluded our event with a charity auction which raised 3.000 EUR for organizations ZPM Moste Polje and CIRIUS Kamnik. A pleasant evening emphasised a message to encourage friendship and do good.
Ljubljana, 8th June 2010 - The eight event of the Ypsilon Institute held a special title: They have a lot to tell. Two eminent guests, Prof. Dr. France Bučar, and Prof. Dr. Vid Pečjak addressed the audience with their insight, wisdom and comments at the National Council Assembly room. They addressed a number of important philosophical questions, pondered on current affairs, and gave useful advice they made everyone think. “It is upon us that we help the young to become upright people, with their own will and backbone,” sounded one of their thoughts.
Ljubljana, 07. maj 2010 – the seventh event of the Ypsilon Institute took place in the Technological Park. It answered the question whose are the hands that hold the future. Our guest was Mr. Jan Muehlfeit, president of Microsoft Europe. An extraordinary lecture, numerous thoughts, warnings and solutions fired up an interesting discussion, which proved that the future would be in the hands of the young, however it should be necessary to make reconciliations in several fields, accept responsibility, and other changes.

Hrovača, 21. april 2010. – an interesting discussion at Škrabčeva domačija, in company with our host Mr. Janez Škrabec, and renowned experts, professor emeritus Ddr. Matjaž Mulej, Dr. Valerija Korošec, and Zdenka Kristan M. Sc., confirmed that the young are aware of the urgency of change, and that social responsibility starts with each individual. This is also a way of how to help creating a better world.

Ljubljana, 26. marec 2010 - the fifth event by the Ypsilon Institute focused on the corporative management, and Slovenia’s accession to OECD. In this meeting, hosted by the Post of Slovenia and its general manager Mr. Aleš Hauc, current events were discussed by the audience and the guests of honour: Doc. Dr. Patrik Vlašič, minister of transport, Prof. Dr. Mojmir Mrak, professor of international finance at the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Andrej Rus, professor of corporate management at the Faculty of Social Sciences, and Gorazd Podbevešk, expert in corporate management coming from the RMG company. The meeting was moderated by Leonardo F. Peklar, expert in corporative management, chairman of the Socius board of directors.

Ljubljana, 17. februar 2010. – The challenge at the fourth event by the Ypsilon Institute was the question whether Generation Y is the stupidest generation or is it a generation that will save the world. The meeting was hosted by Mercator company represented by Vera Aljančič Falež M. Sc., member of the management board. The guests of honour Marijana Jazbec M. Sc, Ksenija Špiler Božič, Miha Derganc M. Sc. pondered about Generation Y together with the audience. An interesting debate with opposing views on responsibility, independence and intergenerational cooperation heated the audience up at Maxim restaurant.

Bled, 26. januar 2010 - the third meeting of the Ypsilon Institute was hosted by Prof. Dr. Danica Purg, director and dean of IECD – Bled School of Management. To her invitation responded two eminent guests: Prof. Dr. Jože Trontelj, president of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, and Prof. Dr. Radovan Stanislav Pejovnik, rector of the University of Ljubljana. Main topics of this meeting were knowledge, education and values, connected with the young and the future.

Ljubljana, 22. december 2009 – in the second meeting of the Ypsilon Institute, our guest of honour Mr. Boris Pahor received an enormous applause. His wisdom inspired members, gathered at the first debate evening on the topic of intergenerational cooperation. ”He made me think,” was the most common response after the meeting.

Ljubljana, 29. october 2009. – The inaugural meeting of the Ypsilon Institute exceeded expectations. It proved that the young, representatives of Generation Y, do care about the present, and even more about the future.
