Ljubljana, 15th June 2011 – The Ypsilon Institute organized traditional intergenerational gathering, named They have a lot to tell. Stars of the evening were inventor Peter Florjančič, poet Neža Maurer and professor dr. Slavko Podmenik. They were full of life stories and lessons, which they shared with participants and also had some interesting advice for the young, which made most of the audience think. For sure the main advice they gave was: money doesn’t bring happiness.

Ljubljana, 25th May 2011 – In the spirit of Slovenia’s 20th Anniversary of Independence and “Dan mladosti” The Ypsilon Institute organized the first TEDxYpsilon, subtitled What do generations have to tell to each other? Messages from generations were different, but were given by excellent speakers: The Ypsilon Institute’s team prof. dr. Veljko Rus, prof. drMiro Cerar, drAndrej Vizjak, mag. Marta Kos Marko, prof. dr. Slavko Podmenik, Miha Mazzini and Filip Dobranić. But they all agreed that only cooperation and respect between generations can lead to better future.

Every woman has to be herself!

Ljubljana, 8th March 2011 – The Ypsilon Institute celebrated International women’s day in Rotonda business centre, dedicated to all successful women. Milka Forcan, one of the most powerful Serbian women, engaged in an interesting conversation with Leonardo F. Peklar and shared her view on women’s social situation: “Every woman has to contribute to improvement on her own way and on her field.” Since 50 most successful Slovenian women list was published, the event hosted three of them: dr. Gabi Čačinovič Vogrinčič, Mojca Senčar, dr. med. and dr. Manca Košir. They agreed that International Women’s Day has to be celebrated and especially that women have to become more connected.

Hrastnik, 14th February 2011 – The Ypsilon Institute organized a Date with destiny, where it debated about new work related law. Debate, hosted by Steklarna Hrastnik, confronted opposing opinions of dr. Ivan Svetlik, Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs, Goran Lukić, representative of The Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia and Sonja Šmuc, director of Manager’s Association of Slovenia. Despite different opinions they all agreed that current situation is unbearable and reforms urgently needed. But the question remained in which form they should come.

Bled, 10th January 2011 – The Ypsilon Institute hosted interesting guest at first event of 2011 with IEDC – Bled School of Management. Main guest, Riccardo Illy, presented his personal story with his family business’s success story. Round table presented even more interesting Slovenian business men – Tone Strnad, Marjan Batagelj and Japec Jakopin. Their success stories showed that luck is a mirror of hard work.

Co-creating from different paths into unanimous living

Ljubljana, 10th December 2010 - A little different holiday event of the Ypsilon Institute, titled What are values today? Was hosted by Retirement home Fužine. The young and older generation was greeted by home’s director Bojanka Genorio and honourable guests: first lady Barbara Miklič Türk, state secretary Alenka Kovšca and Gabi Čačinovič Vogričnič, Ph.D. Three stories from social margins were presented at the round table and young and wise ended the gathering in the spirit of intergenerational cooperation with workshop. Workshop resulted in commonly formulated proposals for improving current social situation which are intended for accountable institutions.

Ljubljana, 17 th November 2010 - The Ypsilon Institute and Chamber of commerce and industry of Slovenia hosted Igor Lah, Sandi Češko and Martin Darko Klarič from the Top 100 richest Slovenians list. The purpose of the event, named From 0 to 100, how? wasn’t condemning the rich, but presenting stories of those, who succeeded in Slovenian and international environment with the right idea, hard work and determination.

Ljubljana, 27th October 2010 - More than 250 members, partners and friends of the Ypsilon Institute filled Mercurius hall in BTC to celebrate first anniversary of its work. The evening hosted interesting guests – Jože Mermal, honourable guests Blaž Kavčič MSc and Darja Radič MSc and main guests Emil Tedeschi and dr. Peter Kraljič. At the occasion the Ypsilon Institute announced beginning ot the AcademY, presented new graphic design, for the first time presented Ypsilon+ awards and remembered and thanked everyone who contributed to its successful story.
