    Petra Kocjan (director)

    She graduated in Political Science, specializing in international relations and continues to study International Business at masters programme. She also studied at Faculty of Political Science Roberto Ruffilli at Bologna University for one semester and interned at Slovenian Embassy in Washington, D.C. She gained first work experience at family international logistic company and was active as a volunteer throughout her studies. She worked as volunteer lobbyist at Amnesty International Slovenia for Balkan region, which was also a theme of her thesis, titled Impunity for war crimes on the territory of states of former Yugoslavia. She has experience in administrative work from Maat consulting and Socius Inc. and organized, managed and cooperated with many volunteer projects. She began working at The Ypsilon Institute as Office Manager, then became Executive Director and was named Director of The Ypsilon Institute in 2012. Besides being Director of The Ypsilon Institute, she is a Consultant at International Chairman's Forum and Member of the Supervisory Board of National Youth Council of Slovenia.

    Žiga Vavpotič (program director)

    is a graduate in economics, entrepreneur, running his own company, and the author of My Very Own Book. He is also a student of international relations and of the master programme Management of public and non-profit organizations. As early as he attended Gimnazija Bežigrad, he formed the Institute for the Youth. He used to be a director of the Socius Business Club and one of the founders of the Economic Forum at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana. He also used to work with Radio of Slovenia, gave incentive for the online University for life, was a board member of Eco Ventures International, and a coordinator of international institutions for Slovenia: the Salzburg Seminar, the Youth Employment Summit, and the Ecademy Slovenia. For his successful international activity, he was awarded Unesco Youth Ambassador by the UNESCO ASP Network. In 2004, he became the youngest member of advisory board of the Microsoft Office Information Worker Board of the Future, founded on the Bill Gates’ request. He was also a columnist on the Global Youth Voice issues for the Kansas City Star Newspaper. In 2000, became the youngest member of the international organization Mensa Slovenia. Žiga’s life motto is “Live and leave a trace.”

    Uršula Butkovič (head of AcademY)

    She finished study of Cultural Studies and Social Anthropology, during which she also spent one semester abroad  studying at University of Antwerp. During her studies she was involved in Fair Trade project held by Volunteer Week in organization Student Organization of University of Primorska. She remained active as volunteer in Fair Trade and also in working with children with special needs. Apart from work experience gained by student work in various filed, she learned a lot from people she met all over the world. She gladly puts to work combination of all these experience on daily basis at The Ypsilon Institute.

    Lovro Gruden (local project manager - Maribor)

    He is an Economics graduate who developed his interest in business and finances studying at Faculty of Economics and Business in Maribor and at Philipps University Marburg in Germany. He graduate at Faculty of Economics and Business in the field of Finance and Banking and is involved mostly in analyzing investments, managing financial risk and occasional marketing at capital markets. He gained experience working as financial analyst in energetic field, worked in a company for managing assets and is currently employed as financier in a company developing and producing telecommunication equipment. After high school he also formed Educational association of young drivers which even today joins young drivers who are aware of their responsibility in traffic. He says that future is on the side creative and critical individuals.
