The founder's story

The founder's story

Behind every story, there is a special story. Thus, the story of the Ypsilon Institute also has its story or at least a chapter – The founders.

Every story has its beginning. This one began at Gimnazija Bežigrad where Blaž Kos and Žiga Vavpotič met. They have collaborated on various projects, and have deliberated on working together on this idea, too. The idea matured in the summer of 2009, when they discovered that there were no think tanks for the young in Slovenia. Aware of their social responsibility, however engaged in numerous other projects, they invited Žiga’s childhood’s friend Blaž Ravnikar to participate, since he was just looking for new challenges in life. At the time, Žiga was running the Socius business club, so all the three agreed to invite Socius to cooperate, too.  Namely, the original idea was that the Ypsilon Institute would continue with the activities of Socius business club, which eventually could not happen due to different target audience. Upon Žiga’s request, one of the co-founders is also his company Globaldreamvision since it embodies the values of the Ypsilon Institute.

Therefore the founders of the Ypsilon Institute are: Blaž Kos, Blaž Ravnikar, Žiga Vavpotič, Globaldreamvision d. o. o., and Socius d. d.
